Peter proactively engaged the Home Secretary to instigate the ‘Child Rescue Alert’, (to enhance the police recovering abducted children) across the UK. He was also responsible for working across government and 400 independent local authorities, to agree, implement and manage ‘Government Connect’ a secure information sharing platform to reduce the number of child fatalities in abusive homes.

In 2019 he was invited to take part in the Parliamentary Review into Social Care by Lord Pickles.

In 2021, he was awarded the High-Sheriff of Lancashire Award for his ‘exceptional contribution to community service during the Covid-19 Pandemic’, following the set-up, rapid manufacture & supply of c12,000 PPE consignments, (masks, visors and protective gowns), to UK frontline services. By pivoting a renewable energy manufacturing.
